01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Yakitori is available one skewer at a time, making it easy to sample different cuts or focus on your favourites. The menu includes seseri (chicken neck), negima (chicken and spring onion), tsukune (chicken meatball), kokoro (chicken heart), sunazuri (gizzard), kawa (skin), bonjiri (tail) and nankotsu (cartilage). Some visitors have singled out the seseri, while others have praised the cooking of the individually grilled skewers. Trying a few different cuts lets you explore a range of flavours while keeping yakitori at the heart of the meal.
Between skewers, try the chilled chawanmushi, a savoury steamed egg custard, or the homemade potato salad. Visitors have described the chilled chawanmushi as refreshing and easy to eat, and the potato salad is a favourite among some repeat diners. Other small plates include nameko mushroom with grated daikon, yodare-dori (spicy chicken), chilled liver and garlic chives, and green pepper with meat miso. One diner particularly enjoyed the chilled liver and garlic chives, ordering it repeatedly. Beer, wine and other alcoholic drinks are available, so you can graze on skewers and small plates over drinks, or make the meal more substantial with plain rice or, in limited quantities, yakitori donburi or takikomi gohan (seasoned rice cooked with other ingredients).
The menu offers room to mix and match skewers, small plates and rice dishes to suit your appetite and company. At Hayacchan in Tatsuminaka, Ikuno Ward, Osaka, you can take your time putting together an evening meal.
